According to wikipedia, Leo the Lion is the mascot for the Hollywood film studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and one of its predecessors, Goldwyn Pictures, featured in the studio's production logo, which was created by the Paramount Studios. The first lion logo was modeled after Slats, a lion trained by Volney Phifer, and born at Dublin Zoo in Ireland on March 20, 1919. The Slats logo was used on all black-and-white MGM films between 1924 and 1928.
The lion is beautiful and impressive. I really enjoyed photographing it from many angles, and the light was just wonderful on this afternoon.
I'm headed off to my next work trip to spend a week in Cement City, aka: Houston.
Have a "roaring" great week my friends, I'll try to comment as much as I can.
