"If you can't be in awe of Mother Nature, there's something wrong with you." ~ Alex Trebek
Best viewed in larger sizes.
One of the many hot pools within Yellowstone National Park. Most of them were so deep and clear that you felt you could see miles below their surface. Miles - isn't the correct measure of course; however, it conveys the feeling of depth as I stood beside them & gazed into their pools, watched the hot water bubble the surface, and felt the steam roil into the air.
And too - the minerals and bacteria that gathers around the edges of these pools and gives them their amazing colors which were fascinating to me. I burned up a lot of pixels taking photos of these oddities of nature.
Here is a close up (SOOC) of the bacteria & other ? that live around the edges of these hot springs pools. There was another link included in day before yesterday's POTD of some of the growth around the pools, but I particularly like this one because it's so different.
Thanks so much for your comments & critiques (always welcome) on my shots. More Yellowstone shots to come and perhaps some cars mixed in too in the coming days.
Have a colorful and playful day today my friends!
