Bill and I like to drive the backroads, and smaller highways when we are on vacation. When leaving Santa Fe, New Mexico I used the GPS to route us towards Taos on what looked like some very interesting roads. It was interesting to say the least when we were about 25 miles into the drive, and this is what we came to........the end of the road.
Or at least the end of the road for the vehicle we were driving. In the mid-ground of the photo, the road crossed over a farily deep gully that looked really rough - so we decided we shouldn't attempt it, primarily because there was no sign that the "road" continued any further than we could see from this vantage point.
Oftentimes, I think the GPS says it's a road; however, it's not always a "passable" road, and many times just ruts in the road. Nevertheless, we enjoyed what of the road we saw, back-tracked and found another, more "passable" road to take.
