"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings." ~ John Muir
This is a shot from the side of the road on our trip frin Virginia City back into Reno, Nevada. Bill and I stopped to enjoy this gorgeous very as we were coming down the mountains into the valley that holds Reno. If you check this out in larger sizes, you can see the city of Reno in the distance. The larger building to the right of the scene is the Grand Sierra Resort near the Reno airport.
Reno is a mini Las Vegas, but for me it's more sedate and just goes about it's business without being over the top. Set in a bowl-shaped valley at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The population of Reno is around a quarter of a million - so it's not huge. It was the birthplace of Harrah's Entertainment. And even today, you can see a large portion of the Harrah's collection of awesome, classic and rare cars at the National Automobile Museum near many of the downtown casinos.
Lovely place to go, so much to see. I hope you all enjoy this awesome view.
Once again, I'm headed to the airport to fly to Houston, Texas for a week of work. I'll try to comment as I can. I sure do enjoy seeing your photos my friends!
Have a blessed day!
