This stained-glass window is in the Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven & St Nicholas, commonly known as the Galway Cathedral. Even though it is the newest of the last great stone cathedrals to be built in Europe it is a very striking one to be sure. Construction began in 1958 and was completed in 1965. The architecture draws on the Renaissance style and others and contains rose windows, mosaics, a central dome, recessed stained-glass windows and more.
“I never weary of great churches. It is my favorite kind of mountain scenery. Mankind was never so happily inspired as when it made a cathedral.” ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
