A MOSAIC THAT TIME BUILT
November 26, 2018
Several years ago, we visited the Lakeport Plantation that was built in 1859 on the Mississippi River in Chicot County, Arkansas. It has not had extensive remodeling but has been very well cared for and retains most of its original architectural features. We are told, and I’m inclined to believe, that this brick walkway was laid down at about, or near to, the original construction date. Can you imagine the history and tales that they could tell of what has happened in and around that house over the last 159 years? I really loved the wear, the textures and the moss and plants that have grown up in between the bricks. I think it makes a cool, textural abstract photo.
