Siblings & Snow Cones in Styrofoam Cups!
July 17, 2014
Sorry I wasn't able to comment on any photos yesterday - duty called & I didn't get home until very late last nigh.
This photo is an "end of the day" shot. After walking around the big car show for several hours in the heat (it was really hot) the four Grandkids and me & Grandpa Bill went back to our cars on display - with a brief stop at the concession stand. We were ready for a rest & some relief from the Texas heat.
We all enjoyed a well deserved "sit down" in the shade, and the G'kids enjoyed their snow cones.
I was thankful that the concession stand agreed to put the "snow cones" in Styrofoam cups, it made for so much more fun, and a less messy treat for the G'kids.
From left to right is: Benjamin (5), Case (8), Abigail (5) and Eleanor (3)......... all these grand-kiddo's are children of Bill's son Robby & his wife Vanessa. Their parents weren't with us at the car show, so me & grandpa loved teaching them about classic cars. They enjoyed it too.
Grandpa & I kicked back under the big shade trees with them and enjoyed our iced tea as they ate their snow cones. What a fun day we had with the kids & the cars!
The Mustang in the background is my '69 Mach 1 and the taillight just behind Eleanor is from Bill's '66 Ford Fairlane. Art suggested recently that I should post some new photos of mine & Bill's cars, so I'll work on getting some good shots of them at the next show. Thanks Art!
This shot concludes the local car show photo series that I've been sharing with you all for a few weeks. Thanks so much for your comments, critiques and suggestions - they are all very much appreciated.
"My grandfather taught me generosity. He sold snow cones in Harlem. I went with him at 5 and he let me hand out the change and snow cones. I learned a lot in the couple of years that we did that." ~ Erik Estrada
Take care and "chill out" today my friends -, tomorrow is Friday!
