When I took this photo, there were hundred's of people hustling and bustling and going about their way on NYC's 5th Avenue. In the middle of the packed streets of NYC, I saw this young lady who had found a comfortable seat on the street and was enjoying reading her book. She was not disturbed by the crowds at all.
"New York, in itself, has this frenzied, chaotic feeling to it. It's such a big city, and it's always moving, and there are so many people." ~ Victoria Justice
Find a quite spot for yourself today, at least for a few minutes.
Linda, This is truly amazing capture job of this person that so intense reading and looks like nothing is bothering her. I have visited New York city, and never could withdraw myself from all these busy surrounds.
How wonderf to see there is still some sanity left in the world ! A young lady utterly defying the universal trend and actually reading a book !! Yes, a written book, with paper pages and the rest !! Instead of texting.............. Kind of gives me hope that tricknology has not beffudled every brain....... Fine find, love the shot !!!
(I see SmugMug is Still Having Issues) I tried multiple Comments when I was the first one posting early in the AM and it did no good. So I deleted my additional comments when they obviously are not working...
This is a test comment to see if another comment will allow this to show in the Dailies. Several people's potds that I commented on (by going to their website) the comment some how made the photo show up. Nevertheless, I've posted the following on many of your photos that I was able to find tonight.
As many of the members have commented, the SM Daily Most Popular site is having issues. Some member's photos are showing up, many are not even though there are comments on them. Thousands of photos are showing up that have zero comments (56 pages worth in my browser), so many of us have to go to the member's site to comment. Thanks to everyone who has done that for my potd. I emailed them yesterday, and their response was mostly that they didn't have an issue and blew me off. I emailed them for a 2nd time this morning to reiterate the issue. They did then acknowledge that they were aware, and the engineers were working on the issue. I encourage you and others to email firstname.lastname@example.org Also, as Terry Allen noted the Flickr site is working well https://www.flickr.com/groups/2811726@N24/pool/with/31204190888/
