Painted Hills ~ by Linda
April 16, 2022
The Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument area covers approximately 1.9 million acres in the State of Utah (USA). It is an enormous area full of beautiful and amazing landscapes. It was almost unbelievable to come upon this hill and see the many color bands in the soil and rocks.

5 weeks agoWow spectacular colours brilliant shot
In my shot the orange this is a boat crane for loading and unloading stores equipment and ice etc as well as stores carried to assist the crayboats operating for weeks in this area . The nearest port is Bluff a fairly rough and rigorous trip into the Southern Ocean to the most Southern Port most New Zealand. The only way to reach this remote area is by boat or helicopter Overland could only be achieved by highly specialise mountaineers and only those versed in survival techniques
