The Window @ Winslow
February 5, 2017
I have said many times over that windows and doors fascinate me. They can present mystery, curiosity, a story. Sometimes you can get a glimpse into what's happening inside and see how other's live, and then sometimes your imagination just has to conjure up a story of your own.
This Trompe l'oeil painting leaves nothing to the imagination for me. My interpretation of this is of a couple dancing together in a Texas (or Arizona, or California, or Alabama, or Louisiana) Honky Tonk..
This is one of the many Trompe l'oeil paintings on the side of a building in Winslow, Arizona. Made famous by the Eagle's song "Take It Easy."
So a portion of the song says: "Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy."
Thank you for your comments and critiques.
Have a day full of imagination.
