A Yearling Grizzly
July 31, 2019
This yearling Grizzly Bear is foraging for food on the grass near the Estuary that surrounds Knight Inlet Lodge in British Columbia. He or she was so cute, but still potentially dangerous. We were in a boat when I took this photo. We loved our trip there and the bear-watching was incredible.
“Most animals show themselves sparingly. The full-grown grizzly is six to eight hundred pounds of smugness. It has no need to hide. If it were a person, it would laugh loudly in quiet restaurants, boastfully wear the wrong clothes for special occasions, and probably play hockey.” ~ Craig Childs
