RED OAK COLORS…..
December 3, 2018
The week before Thanksgiving we had a couple of gorgeous days where the light was brilliant, and the temperature was in the mid-70s. The Red Oak Trees in our backyard were so pretty. We have about 20 that were all planted at different times. They were all starting to put their Fall colors on but no two were exactly in the same stage of color. I think that may be because they are of different ages and were planted in groups over the last 10 years. The large green tree in the lower right of the collage was planted 10 years ago and it was smaller even than the one that is in the lower left of this collection. We’ve been amazed at how quickly the Red Oaks have grown. The first three that were planted around our patio give us amazing shade already. We have often said that we wished we had planted more 10 years ago, so that now we would have our very own forest. 😊
