Ruby Falls in Purple Light
January 24, 2019
The Ruby Falls cave is located on Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is the home of the tallest and deepest underground waterfall open to the public in the United States. You descend 26 stories by elevator and explore the scenic cavern path on a guided tour which culminates in the breathtaking waterfall. This is but a small portion of the waterfall. At the end of the cavern tour is located. It is illuminated in different colored lighting that changes periodically. The waterfall is 1,120 feet underground and is 145 feet of falling water.
“Telling stories with visuals is an ancient art. We've been drawing pictures on cave walls for centuries. It's like what they say about the perfect picture book. The art and the text stand alone, but together, they create something even better. Kids who need to can grab onto those graphic elements and find their way into the story.” ~ Deborah Wiles
