Mother Nature's Majesty

"Year by year we are learning that in this restless, strenuous American life of ours vacations are essential." ~ Ellsworth Huntington
Of course the geysers and mud pots and other geo-thermal features of Yellowstone are amazing, but when you are there & experience them yourself in person, you realize how blessed we are that these wonders of nature have been protected by our National Parks system.
Yellowstone is so vast, and there is so much to see - I could easily spend months there exploring. Unfortunately, our vacation was just a week - so we saw as much of the park and surrounding areas as we could, but we certainly didn't cover even 20% of the wonders of this place.
To see the steam rising from the earth was just amazing.
This is an SOOC shot (except of course for the frame) of a portion of the Lower Geyser Basin. Best viewed in larger sizes.
Here's some more of my favorite shots from the Lower Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. I would really like your input and critique on this daily, as well as the other shots.
Around a lot of the geysers and hot water pools are formations of minerals, bacteria and who knows what else. The shapes and colors were fascinating to me, and a tribute to the artistry of Mother Nature. See a close up of some of the bacteria here:
Have a fun-filled and sunshiny day today my friends!
