Metal Cacti – by Linda
March 29, 2021
I do love cacti of all shapes and forms with their variety of blossoms. The majestic Saguaro Cactus are probably my most favorite, and yet I love the common Prickly Pear cacti as well. I even loved this “pseudo” cactus work of art. I spotted this little jewel in a gift boutique in Johnson City, Texas when we were in that area around Thanksgiving of last year. It was only a brief 4-day trip, it was so nice to get away and see something besides home – make no mistake, I do love being home, but after the long lockdown it was nice to get away for a period of time.

Thank you for your comments & critiques, they always make me smile.

I'm not sure why this image is showing up twice in the dailies, but I'm certain that it is "Operator Error" :-)

2 weeks agoThese are rather eye-catching and fun to see. Well captured detail Linda. It's been a very long time since I've been somewhere where cacti grow. They are fascinating plants.

2 weeks agoVery fun faux cactus! I'm glad you were able to have that fun trip away, but that was 4 months ago! Now that Texas is officially open, will you be on the road soon, or are you still staying "safe"?
Re: The ibis and her eggs--she doesn't pick them up, just turns them gently with her bill, so they will get evenly incubated over time. I watched this nest from afar for quite awhile, and she did this about every 20 minutes or so, I think. (I didn't really time her, but that is my recollected estimate.)
