Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge – by LGood
March 11, 2020
This is a photo of my favorite bridge over the Trinity River, just to the west of downtown Dallas. It was taken through the windshield of my car with my point & shoot. I did not compose this shot, just stuck the camera up to the windshield and clicked as I was approaching the bridge structure. I was pleased with the way it turned out. The Margaret Hunt Hill bridge as well as its sister bridge the Margaret McDermott Bridge were designed by Santiago Calatrava of Spain. Both bridges are conventional concrete pier-and-beam freeway bridges with cable-stayed bike lines. The original plan was to have three Calatrava bridges over the Trinity, but the third bridge may not be constructed due to cost overruns on the second bridge. I suppose only time will tell.
