"Sweethearts"

This is a shot of my sister & her husband hugging each other while we were walking through the Jungle Gardens at Avery Island, Louisianna.

They are a great couple, and they have been married for 30 years. I just couldn't resist snapping this sweet shot of them from afar.

Best viewed in larger sizes.

Have a great day my friends, and Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just finished today with the conference. And, I had little time to 'play' this week - so, please forgive me my lack of comments. I'm going to try to get caught up this weekend.

In yesterday's potd, I mentioned that we toured the Tabasco pepper sauce facility on Avery Island, Louisiana - and I mentioned that the island also has a santuary called the Jungle Garden. This is a shot taken in the garden at the Buddah's Temple. According to the story we were told, in the 1920's a Chinese warlord sent a roughly 900-year-old statue of Buddha to America, where it sat unclaimed for many years in a New York City warehouse. In 1936, two friends of E.A. McIlhenny (the McIlhenny family created the Tabasco pepper sauce company in the late 1890's) purchased the statute and sent it to him by rail as a surprise. Mr. McIlhenny designed an Asian-influenced garden setting in the Jungle Garden at Avery Island for the sacred statue. He constructed a long forest pool, an arched stone bridge, and a glass-enclosed temple for the Buddha. I didn't get a good photo of the front of the temple & Buddha, but here is a shot of the back of the temple:

This is one of the prettiest spots in the Jungle Garden. I loved all the trees and plants, and I'm a big fan of the Spanish Moss that was hanging from many of the Oak trees.

And, I wanted to say thanks to you all who found one of my old photos from 2009 of the star fish & gave it comments enough to make the top 40 in the Daily's - that was a real thrill for me. I had to laugh because it totally overwhelmed my daily shot from the Tabasco factory.

You guys rock!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all I learn from you.
