Happy April Fool's day!

This is a shot from the L Good archives. Why would I show a shot of four eggs on a grill? Well because this is the first step of creating Fried Rice at the Akita Hibachi and Sushi restaurant near our house. It's a great restaurant that has the Hibachi dining room on one side where they put on a great show of cooking. And then there's the Sushi bar side. Most of the time Bill and I go for the sushi there, but on this particular trip we were celebrating Kimmie's birthday.

It's a tradition in our family that the person celebrating the birthday get's to choose the restaurant where they want to have lunch or dinner. Kimmie is my oldest grandchild who is now 19 (gee that makes me feel old), but on the day this was taken, she was celebrating her 17th birthday at her favorite restaurant with Grandma.

As mentioned, I'm combing through some of last year's photos & reviewing them. Many of you that have followed me on the Daily Community have seen this outstanding 1937 Ford before. However, I thought I'd post another "front" shot of this beauty. I LOVE the vibrant color, the grill and the tear drop headlights. During the holidays I received an email from a gentleman in Michigan that was putting together a family tree book. He stated that is Uncle invented this grill, he'd seen it on Smug & requested permission to use it in his book. Of course I said yes, and sent him the original shot of it.

This has been enhanced to deepen the reflections and shadows - all else is SOOC. See the former daily shot of this beauty here: http://lgood.smugmug.com/Other/Daily-Photos/12484643_NvHx9n#!i=1953065084&k=8WDcPt4

Be blessed, and enjoy your Sunday. Bill & I are headed back to Big D from Reno, NV in the morning.

I don't know what it is - but if nothing else, it certainly is unique!!!!!

Here's the Beast car, seen recently at a classic car show. As I said before - I don't know what this car was 'born' to be, but here's what it is today. I looked for an information card that might give me a clue to make, model, year - but there was none.

So suffice it to say - it's probably one of a kind.

Have a unique day full of pleasant surprises!

This is a wonderful blue 1939 Ford Sedan at a recent car show. I loved the tear drop headlights, the grill and of course all the reflections in the front fenders and the wheels.

This is one of my favorite cars, and I was honored to get to see & shoot this beauty recently. Hope you all enjoy.

Best!

Linda

PS - Papa was right, I'm in a time warp on the original date of June 13th, rather than July 13th - I just want to go back on vacation. :)

An SOOC shot of a gorgeous 1937 Packard from yesterday's car show in Waxahachie, TX. The show is head twice a year and called Cars in the Park. It was a lovely day, hot but a good breeze and the shade of all the wonderful trees in the park made it very pleasant.

I particularly liked this car and the photo of it because (of course) the reflections in the front fender, the sunburst, the hood ornament and the fact that is is a true American classic touring car.

Hope you enjoy. Thank you for all your kind comments on the Camero reflections yesterday. I'll be loading photos from the archives this next week, as we are leaving for New Mexico Monday morning. Bill and I can hardly wait, and I'm looking forward to some new things and places to shoot.

Have a wonderful Sunday my friends.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

POTD May 28, 2011

Hot Dogs and family get togethers are always a part of the Memorial Day weekend celebration, so I thought this would be a good shot to kick of the weekend. This was from a recent car show, and I must say that the dogs were really tasty.

Thanks for your kind comments on Abilgail's "tickle me" game shot from yesterday,

Have a great weekend,

Linda
Another car shot from this weekend's car show. This is a 1940 Chevy convertible. The reddish color is color to the shade of the 'burnt orange' color of my 1969 Mach 1 Mustang - Factory color = Indian Fire Red, but it's just a great compliment sitting side by side with this wonderful car. Ed, the owner of this car, is a great fellow & when we find ourselves at the same show we try to park close to visit & enjoy the people's comments about the closeness of the colors of our two cars - even though his car is 29 years older than mine.. Several people have asked how many convertibles were made in 1940 - I don't know, but I'll ask Ed the next time I see him.

Thanks to everyone on your kind comments on the 1938 Auburn shot and that of my granddaughter Abilgail walking in Grandpa's huge shoes.

Have a fab evening!!!
