January 22, 2013 Happy New Year Everyone!!!! This should be titled "Fire in the Sky" - so I suppose that's what I'll call it. This is uncropped and untouched. Taken at a car show last year. I've been mining some of my old photos and thought I might post this one. I certainly have appreciated and enjoyed the many notes that I've gotten from you on my absence from the Daily Community. I'm going to try to get back into the swing of it as I can, I may miss a few days - but I know you all understand. Work is crazy and I'm still traveling nearly every week. January 21, 2013 Young love, enjoying nature - 'nuff' said. SOOC - it was a hazy day, so the background isn't sharp, but I think that adds to the vastness of the area. 2011 Trip to New Mexico - on the way home back to Texas, we went through a little town called Melrose. We spotted this depot and stopped and explored for awhile. It was quite lovely with stucco exterior walls, red tile roof and the window frames were tourquoise blue. Very interesting architecture/
October 14, 2012 "The Grand Tetons are magnificient, majestic mountains rising up from the valley floor, surrounded by evergreen forests and lakes that shimmer like jewels. These snow capped, granite pinnacles will leave you feeling rejuvenated by seeing yet another one of nature's spectacular beauties! " ~ Unknown From one of the meadows near Jenny Lake in the Grand Teton National Park. This was taken late one afternoon as the sun set, and the sky was threatening rain. October 12, 2012 "I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes." ~ e. e. cummings We saw a good number of trees like this that we guessed must have been a part of fires in the park at sometime in the past. I am not sure what kind of pine trees these are, but I really loved this view of the trees that had been burned, the new green growth of young trees amoungst them, all set against the pretty blue hills behind. Bill's surgery on his shoulder (rotator cuff) went well, he's in a lot of pain - I'm taking him to physical therapy this morning and taking him back home again afterwards. He's great of spirit. Thanks for your good wishes - I'll do my best to comment today........probably while he's napping. Smugger's are the best friends, thanks again for all you good wishes, prayer and comments - they really lifted mine & Bill's spirits throughout the day. Have a blue-sky kind of day today my friends!
