These FAB tail lights are from a 1957 Buick Century. Love the lights, and the fins on this classic.

I'm taking a short break from posting on the dailies. It won't be long, I'll be back in a week or so. In the meantime I'll do my best to comment. Love you guys!

Have a "red-letter" day today my friends!

This was my "dream car" in high school. I believe it is a 1969 (could be 1970) Dodge Super Bee. Didn't get one - but loved them just the same.

According to Wikipedia: The original Dodge Super Bee was based on the design of the Dodge Coronet, designed as a two-door coupe, and was produced from 1968 until 1970. It was the company's low-priced muscle car, derived from the design of the Plymouth Road Runner, and retailed at USD$3,027 on the consumer market. The origin of the name, "Super Bee", has its basis in the "B" Body designation pertinent to Chrysler's mid-sized cars, including the Road Runner and Charger.

My Facebook friends saw a preview of this image last week. Thanks for your "likes"

And yet another "cool" car. It's a 2000 Plymouth Prowler. You don't see a lot of these on the road, but they are sure fun to drive, and great to look at.

The Daily Community makes me better and it feels like home. Thank you!

Have a great day!

Here's another from the Lgood archives. It's a gorgeous 2012 Boss 302 Mustang! Black with red racing stripes. I loved the funky reflections of the two men standing nearby and enjoying this speedy beauty.

"Auto racing is boring except when a car is going at least 172 miles per hour upside down." ~ Dave Barry

Thank you all for your comments and thoughts about the "Guest's" remarks concerning reflections. It was interesting to hear your insights, and I truly appreciated them. I found it funny that the Guest scolded that it was not a commercially acceptable photo - well, gosh we all know that. I didn't intend it to be. So.....here's another one with more distracting (I admit that these could be considered distracting) reflections on this car.

You guys ROCK!!!!!!

As always, critiques are welcomed here.

Have a "racing-stripe" sort of exciting day today my friends.

This is a gorgeous 1939 Chevrolet Business Coupe seen at a car show last year. It's another from the archives, and of course I love the light and the reflections.

I'm back on the road for a business trip next week and will be gone until late Friday. I'll do my best to browse, comment & most of all enjoy your photos while I'm gone.

Have a blessed day!

"I had more clothes than I had closets, more cars than garage space, but no money." ~ Sammy Davis, Jr.

Late addition: Note to Guest: - it's not that I don't have the skill or knowledge to keep reflections out of my auto shots, it's that I like them. And in fact many times I enhance them, sometimes I don't. My thought is that the reflections tell a story about the scene and what is going on around the vehicle. This is not a photo for commercial publication, but from my own artistic point of view, and enjoyment. So critique/criticize all you want - your opinion is your own. And mine is mine - I like the reflections. I don't mind your questions or comments, but you should be willing to share your name instead of hiding behind the guest moniker. Perhaps we could all learn from you, if we just knew who you were and had our own opportunity to critique and enjoy your work.

I Love Hood Ornaments - and I wish cars still had cool ones like this one on a 1935 Buick.

Check it out in X3

Have a wonderful Saturday - off on a bluebonnet photo safari today!

This is a 427 Chevy motor in I'm not sure what kind of car. The 427's were made by Cheverolet from 1965 to 1969 or 1970 - according to my hubby and in house car expert. This was photographed at one of our car shows in the last year or so.

Thanks for the overwhelming comments on my Hudson car Graveyard shots. Had I known you all would have like them so much, I would have posted more. Perhaps I'll have time to go back and mine that gallery some more & share with you.

Smugmuggers ROCK!!!

Happy Friday to all my Friends!

Another Hudson from the graveyard near Nocona, Texas.

What a fine car this would have been in it's day. But I still love the style, the lines and the rust - yes I'm a fan of rust if it can't be restored. i honor our history, and want to capture it before it's gone.

Have a "rust-free" day today my friends,

Here's another shot from the Hudson car graveyard. This is a close up of the Hudson Terraplane hood ornament and grill. This car would have been a real beauty in it's day. It's so sad to see it so rusted out, it still has a lot of character.

Check it out in X2 or X3 for details.

Thanks so much for your comments on the other rusted Hudson shot posted yesterday, I so much appreciate your comments & critiques. It's such fun to be a part of this amazingly talented community.

Have a wonderful, rust-free day today my friends!

Ok - so this is a REALLY BIG change of pace from the bright, shiny show cars you've been seeing as my Daily photo for the last few days. And, it's another dip back into the Lgood archives for shots I've never shown you before. The good news is that I'm finding lots of GOOD shots (in my opinion). I'm not sure why I haven't shown some of these before. Hope you enjoy this journey back in time.

I have gotten over my little dry spell and have been taking some photos lately, so sooner or later, I'll have some more recent photos to share. But I'm still not finished mining the archives.

A good friend of mine & Bill's who is an avid photographer & member of Smug is coming to see us in Texas this Friday - all the way from Alabama. He and his wife have never seen Bluebonnet's before - so we are going on a Photo Safari of Bluebonnets. I can hardly wait.

This poor old car was found near Nocona, Texas where there is a sort of Hudson graveyard of sorts. Dozens and Dozens of old Hudsons - all in really sad shape. It's just too bad that these cars were left to rust and rot in the field under the blazing Texas sun.

According to Wikipedia: The Hudson Motor Car Company made Hudson and other brand automobiles in Detroit, Michigan, from 1909 to 1954. In 1954, Hudson merged with Nash-Kelvinator Corporation to form American Motors. The Hudson name was continued through the 1957 model year, after which it was dropped.

Looking at the photos on Wikipedia of the Hudson cars that they show on that page, this appears that it could be about a 1952 - but I'm not sure. If you have a better year for this one, I'd love to know.

Have a wonderful day today my friends!

Once again - here's another classic from the archives and also seen at the Fort Worth Yellow Rose car show, which is an all Ford show. This golden beauty is a wonderful 1955 Fairlane. Loved the color, loved the taillights, and also check out the leather lining in the truck. Also note the mirror under the car showing the underside. It's all pristine for sure - from top to bottom.

Thank you all so much for your kind and wonderful comments on my 1940 Ford "Copperhead" car shot from yesterday. My commentary about the negative 'Guest' remarks seemed to really resonate with many of you, and your insights were spot on. Never let them get you down, just ignore and go on. You guys make my heart sing, and I learn so much from your work. Critiques of my work are always welcome, I appreciate your thoughts and pointers on what I can do to make a photo better. SmugMugger's ROCK!!!!!

Have a golden day today my friends!

Here's another gorgeous classic car shot from the archives.

This 1940 Ford is known as "The Copperhead" This shot was taken at last summer's "All Ford" show in Fort Worth, Texas known as the Yellow Rose Car Show. The red Ford farm truck, the Silver Fox Mustang, the Copperhead, and tomorrow's photo are cars that were at the Yellow Rose show. Bill and I had our cars there too - but I've posted the 'best of the best'.

Notice the mirror under this beauty - she's just as clean underneath as everywhere else.

I have a comment & question for all my friends on the Daily Community: " The thumbsdown snake is gone - but there's still someone that wants to depress good photos- I've been a victum recently of the negative "Guest" comments."

Have you experienced this? Just curious, I get quite a few of them - but I just ignore them and delete. The deleted comments knocks my photos down in the ranking. So be it.

Here's the most recent situation: Day before yesterday (the Red Ford Farm Truck photo) I got a comment from a friend of mine named JT who checks my photos sporatically.. He comments on one or two that he likes sometimes. He's not a member of Smugmug, but he leaves his email address so I know it's him.

Close to the same time that JT posted Friday night I was talking to my sister on the phone & I told her about the red Ford farm truck (because she has one - not as nice of course). I asked her to go check out shot on the Daily. She loved it so well, that she posted a comment from her iPhone.

About 20 minutes after JT's & Tammy's (my sister) comments appeared on my photo - I got a "Guest" comment that said, "JT & Tammy?" - obviously a snide remark.

My immediate reaction was to post a comment that said, "JT is a good friend of mine & Tammy is my sister - what's your problem?" I deleted my nasty remark because it was non- productive.

I've gotten lots of negative "Guest" comments lately that I've deleted, the deletes knocks my photos down in ranking - too bad, as said, "I don't care." Mr/Ms/Mrs "Guest" you won't keep me from posting.

My motto is: "Do unto others as you would have done to you."

I don't post dailies to be the #1 photo - I do it to have fun, and if friends outside the smugmug community comment - what's the harm. I want to learn from your comments and critiques. This is the most talented group of photographers I've ever know, and to study your photos & learn from them is my passion. Smugmugger's ROCK.

Have any of you ever had this experience? I'm just curious.

I participate in this community and experience it as it is supposed to be - to show our shots and learn from each other. Petty jealousy is ridiculous.

Thank you for your comments on the Silver Fox Mustang yesterday, and all my photos. As mentioned before, I learn so much from all of you.

Sorry for the rant - but I just had to call out the "Guest" comments that I've been suffering from lately - and deleting.

Have a classically awesome day today my friends!

Here's another from the Lgood archives. It's a gorgeous 1965 Mustang - called the Silver Fox.

I can tell you - this is a magnificent, totally pristine car and even more gorgeous in person than what you see here. It's a trailer queen and rarely driven (not my style - I want to drive my classic sometimes) but it's a true "Trophy Car" - it did win Best of Show here at the Yellow Rose event.

I made it back from NYC yesterday afternoon late - lots of delays due to weather out of LGA.

There's no place like home, pun intended...... I saw "Wicked" Thursday evening. And I can tell you it was OUTSTANDING!!!!!! "Wicked" has now eclipsed "Aida" as my all time favorite show on Broadway. It's fabulous.

It was a long week starting out in Dallas Monday morning on a 7:00 a.m. flight (which means that I have to get up at 3:30 a.m. to get ready & drive the hour to the airport), then landed in Detroit - had an hour & 1/2 layover there. Took the second flight of the day to Albany, NY, arriving approx 3:30 p.m..

One of my co-worker's wife forgot to pack his dress shirts, so we all had to go to the mall for him to buy enough shirts for the week. He got lucky - Macy's was having a sale.

We were in Albany (my first time) for Monday evening, Tuesday & 1/2 day Wednesday. We caught the Amtrak train to NYC Wednesday and worked for about 5 hours after arriving in NYC. Meetings on Thursday in NYC started early, and were intense.

But then saw Wicked that night - and all the tiredness and stress melted away.

We did take the time to walk around Wednesday night in Times Square and the nearby streets - you'll see some of those photos from my point & shoot camera in the coming weeks.

NYC is always fun to visit. This morning it was cold, windy and raining there, and I was glad to get back to Texas & the 70 degree weather this afternoon.

Thank you all for you comments this past week. I apologize for being "missing in action" - but will do my best to browse your work from the past week over the weekend & comment. You guys are incredible and so talented.

Have a silvery and wonderful day today my friends!

This classic 1951 Ford farm truck is owned by a good friend of ours named Gary. He has several other cars that are wonderful, but this great truck is certainly my favorite from his stable.

Gotta love those wide-white wall tires. :-)

Proud and loving the sun. These giant sunflowers are just spectacular when you see them in the fields, it's just a riot of color that can be intoxicating. Check this out in the larger sizes to see the bee busily going about his business and the other bug on one of the petals.

"Flowers have an expression of countenance as much as men and animals. Some seem to smile; some have a sad expression; some are pensive and diffident; others again are plain, honest and upright, like the broad-faced sunflower and the hollyhock." ~ Henry Ward Beecher

Have a glorious day full of sunshine & love today my friends.
