Life is good!!

I've been traveling for almost two weeks and have had so little time to comment and I miss that. Plus I've had no time to take new photos worthy of posting - can you identify with 'dry spells'?

Anyway I want to keep my promise to myself to post a photo each day during this my third year of the Dailys. So I dipped back in my archives and came up with this awesome car from the Taos, New Mexico Autumn car show last August or September. It was a super show and - we just barely missed Louisannimages husband and wife team while we were there.

I loved this old beauty - I think it was a Ford, but I didn't get a shot of the info card and I'm in McAllen, TX on the business trip and my car expert - my beloved husband is probably 600 miles away in Waxahachie, TX so I can't ask him what the make and model is.

So I would love to know from the other car 'guys' out there what year model you think this is.

Have a super glossy day today my friends!!

Here's a full sized shot of a gorgeous 1957 Chevy at the Corsicana, Texas Derrick Days car show. It is a real beauty and just perfect in all respects. Check out this in the larger sizes, and notice the reflections, particularly the man streatched out in his chair next to the car.

I posted just a shot of just a tiny piece of the front for my Daily, click here to see it: http://www.smugmug.com/popular/today#!i=1845164463&k=QZttJWr

"Songs with sirens in them should not be allowed on the radio as they trick me when I'm driving." ~ Unknown

This is a 1957 Chevy Bel Air - what more can be said?

It is indeed a classic.

Another beauty! Don't you just love those teardrop headlights? This is a 1939 Ford Sedan. Processed with Topaz Psychedelic filter. I liked the effect, hope you all do too.

Have a fantastic day today!

Another classic beauty! This 1946 Ford had such a unique color scheme. I really liked it a lot. It was one of the host club's cars, so it wasn't entered in the car show - just on display. I thought it was pretty snazzy.

This shot was processed with Topaz detail filter and I really like the way it brought out the reflections (you all know how much I love reflections, particularly in cars). If you look closely you can see an SP of me in the front fender and in part of the hood. Also, the reflections in the hood show many of the shows visitors walking around enjoying all the neat cars.

Thanks to you all for all you nice comments on yesterday's Orange Willys car shot. I was thrilled that it did well, but most of all I was thrilled with your comments. You guys ROCK!

Have multi-colored day of fun today my friends!

"I play the harmonica. The only way I can play is if I get my car going really fast, and stick it out the window." ~ Steven Wright

And I would bet that this stunning 1941 Willys will go really, really fast. This orange beauty was seen recently at a car show in Corciscana, TX. I loved the color, the shape and the details of this jewel. According to Wikipedia: Willys (correctly pronounced "Will-is", but almost universally as "Will-eez") was the brand name used by Willys-Overland Motors, an American automobile company best known for its design and production of military Jeeps (MBs) and civilian versions (CJs) during the 20th century.

Have a really glorious Monday, and start the week off right with a happy smile!

I don't know what it is - but if nothing else, it certainly is unique!!!!!

Here's the Beast car, seen recently at a classic car show. As I said before - I don't know what this car was 'born' to be, but here's what it is today. I looked for an information card that might give me a clue to make, model, year - but there was none.

So suffice it to say - it's probably one of a kind.

Have a unique day full of pleasant surprises!

A gorgeous 1953 Chevy convertible seen at the Corsicana, Texas "Shakers and Scrapers" car show. I loved the pretty Aqua color, and notice that the steering wheel and fuzzy dice are the same color too. Hope you enjoy!

1953 Chevy Convertible

"Another way to solve the traffic problems of this country is to pass a law that only paid-for cars be allowed to use the highways." ~Will Rogers

Rest assured that most of the classic car owners have paid for their cars many times over, but for the love of these old beauties, we keep them running, keep them polished and love them even as we write the check for one more part or piece to make sure they survive for as long as possible.

This wonderful Aqua Blue 1953 Chevrolet Convertible was out at a recent car show in Corsicana, Texas. It was a real beauty and had many people around admiring it's sleek lines and beautiful color and shape. I didn't get the chance to ask the owner if this paint color was a factory original color to the car, but I believe that it was. Oftentimes people change the colors of the cars, and I am OK with that - but for me, I like to keep it factory original and thus my 1969 Mach 1 and Bill's 1966 Fairlane wear the same colors they had when they rolled out of the factory.

This was our first car show of the season (yes, we're behind this year - too many other competing 'events' for us to attend) and I'm please to tell you that both Bill and I took home trophies in the top 20 cars out of 130 that were there. So that was cool.
