1955 Ford Fairlane
April 13, 2013

Here's another from the Lgood archives. It's a gorgeous 1965 Mustang - called the Silver Fox.

I can tell you - this is a magnificent, totally pristine car and even more gorgeous in person than what you see here. It's a trailer queen and rarely driven (not my style - I want to drive my classic sometimes) but it's a true "Trophy Car" - it did win Best of Show here at the Yellow Rose event.

I made it back from NYC yesterday afternoon late - lots of delays due to weather out of LGA.

There's no place like home, pun intended...... I saw "Wicked" Thursday evening. And I can tell you it was OUTSTANDING!!!!!! "Wicked" has now eclipsed "Aida" as my all time favorite show on Broadway. It's fabulous.

It was a long week starting out in Dallas Monday morning on a 7:00 a.m. flight (which means that I have to get up at 3:30 a.m. to get ready & drive the hour to the airport), then landed in Detroit - had an hour & 1/2 layover there. Took the second flight of the day to Albany, NY, arriving approx 3:30 p.m..

One of my co-worker's wife forgot to pack his dress shirts, so we all had to go to the mall for him to buy enough shirts for the week. He got lucky - Macy's was having a sale.

We were in Albany (my first time) for Monday evening, Tuesday & 1/2 day Wednesday. We caught the Amtrak train to NYC Wednesday and worked for about 5 hours after arriving in NYC. Meetings on Thursday in NYC started early, and were intense.

But then saw Wicked that night - and all the tiredness and stress melted away.

We did take the time to walk around Wednesday night in Times Square and the nearby streets - you'll see some of those photos from my point & shoot camera in the coming weeks.

NYC is always fun to visit. This morning it was cold, windy and raining there, and I was glad to get back to Texas & the 70 degree weather this afternoon.

Thank you all for you comments this past week. I apologize for being "missing in action" - but will do my best to browse your work from the past week over the weekend & comment. You guys are incredible and so talented.

Have a silvery and wonderful day today my friends!

This classic 1951 Ford farm truck is owned by a good friend of ours named Gary. He has several other cars that are wonderful, but this great truck is certainly my favorite from his stable.

Gotta love those wide-white wall tires. :-)

"I've got two old Volvos, two old Subarus, and an old Ford Ranger. If you've got an old car, you've gotta have at least several old cars, 'cause one's always gonna be in the garage." ~ Rip Torn quotes

Have a red letter day today my friends!

This is a national award winner and a stunning 1958 Buick Super. You've seen a couple of shots of this car before, but I particularly liked this one showing the full, heavy metal body in the park setting. It's a real beauty. It's owner had me take lots of photos for him and he used one on his show board (not seen here). A showboard is what many classic car owners have the details the unique characteristics of their car, or how/who built it, etc. For example the one I have for my Mach 1 talks about it being a one-of-one car, and what makes it so.

To see a couple of other photos of this glorious American car, click on the below links. The first one is my #4 most popular photo, and the second is a stylized version of the first.

Have a shiny, perfect chrome sort of day today my friends!

According to Wikipedia, the Chevrolet Corvette has been produced in six generations. The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama at a New York Auto show in 1953 as a concept show car. Myron Scott is credited for naming the car after the type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette.

This is a wonderful 1957 Corvette seen at one of the many car shows we go to, and from the Lgood Archives.

The problem is - my work is getting in the way of my hobbies, but at least it funds those hobbies. :-)

Have a fun day friends,

Here's another one from the archives - an awesome 1968 Chevelle SS owned by a good friend of ours. It's a beauty and his pride and joy.

"If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 MPG." ~ Bill Gates

I know you all get tired of me saying that I'm back on the road again, but such is my life. I'm leaving in the morning for a business trip to Albany, NY, then catching the train Wednesday to NYC. Will be there through Friday. The good news is - we are taking Thursday night off & going to see Wicked on Broadway. I'm really looking forward to that. I'll be carrying my little point & shoot on this trip, so fingers crossed that I get some decent shots in between business meetings.

Have a blessed Sunday my friends.

A fun car! This is a 1969 Dodge Charger that is made up to look like the General Lee of the Dukes of Hazzard fame.
April 3, 2013

This is the classic Charger - not the "new" Charger. One of the iconic muscle cars of the muscle car era was definitely the 1969 Dodge Charger. In fact, it would have been a dream car for many of us in the day.

This was taken at a car show that we attended, and was the badge on a 1969 Charger that was dressed up to mimic the "General Lee" of the Dukes of Hazzard television show.

Have a fantastic day full of sunshine & joy my friends!

Linda

PS to Jim Sannerude's comment - Oh yes, yes - the new modern Chargers are really sweet too. I just loved the nostalgia of the original. Thanks for your comments.

Who remembers when "fuzzy dice" were all the rage? You just HAD to have a pair in your car to be cool.

This pair was hanging from the rearview mirror of a 1920 something model T pickup at a car show that we attended sometime in the last year or so. Another from the archives that I revisited and did some PP to. I used the Spicfy filter from Topaz and rather liked the results. You'll notice that the reflections in the windshield are of two red-shirted visitors that were admiring the truck. I also liked the reflections of the dice in the hood of the truck.

Hope your day isn't "dice-y" but rather very "nice-y" today my friends.
