Some of the buildings are new, some are old. They each have (or had) unique uses, but all of them have character.

As mentioned, I was in Tucson, AZ recently (see Sunday's post - March 18th)

We went to Hacienda del Sol (the House of the Sun) to celebrate my birthday and our business trip there.

This is a shot of the walkway to the restaurant in the distance. It's a wonderful place that you should check out if ever you find yourself in Tucson.

Have a blissfull and sun-filled day my friends!

The Heart Attack Grill..........in downtown Las Vegas.

Notice the Ambulance parked nearby. According to their website, they have waitresses dressed as nurses. And after I looked at the menu, I can see why. :-))

We didn't eat here, but I couldn't resist all the neon and color, so I had to take a few shots of this unique eatery. According to the sign, anyone over 350 pounds eats free, we would have had to pay for sure. So, we passed on eating there, but it was an interesting place and I sure liked the neon signage.

Thank you for all your comments on my photos this week, I was particularly pleased with those on the Chief Hotel neon sign yesterday. Since I was traveling (and still am) when hearing about Billie's abstract challenge, I wasn't able to find anything suitable since I'm away from my archives of photos and cannot access from the road. Nevertheless, I will enjoy browsing your's today while I'm sitting in the airport. I'm going to try to catch up this weekend. I'm headed home to Dallas after 3 straight weeks on the road. I'll be so glad to be home!!!!!! And, the good news is that I think I'll be home for the next 2 weeks. Yay!!!!!!!!!

Have a colorful day of happiness my friends!!

This is an SOOC shot of the neon lights in downtown Las Vegas at the Freemont Street Experience. It's an animated neon display on one of the casinos there. For some reason it reminded me of a musical instrument, but it wasn't.

I love neon, love neon signs & enjoy photographing them, and of course Las Vegas is one of the best places on earth to take neon photos.

Today I'm crawling on another plane for Miami, FL - the best news is the work will only keep me away from home for a couple of days, and I'll be back Friday. With any luck - I'll be home all next week. Yay!!!!!!!!!!! So far this year, I've been "on the road" for work for almost 8 weeks.

I'll do the best I can to comment while on the road - if I'm behind, I'll catch up this weekend.

Have a day that is stepped up to your highest inspirations!

If you saw my potd yesterday, it was a shot of the "golden" buildings in Las Vegas that keep showing up in reflections in the glass of other buildings, you'll know why I posted this shot today...... Yes, it's another shot of a different building that has just a sliver of the golden building in the reflection.

I guess you could say, I'm somewhat addictied to reflections. :-)) I guess there's worse things to be addicted to.

Thanks for all your wonderful and kind comments on my photos this week - the business meetings in Houston this week have been brutal and I've been sick with allergies since I left home. So I've not been very active on my comments on your photos, which I sorely miss - but I'll do my best to catch up this weekend.

Happy Friday for me and I hope for you too. I went to the doctor after getting off the plane & got a shot & an Rx to try to feel better. This allergy attack has totally taken my voice away, and the worst is that I feel so lousy I can't get to Oklahoma City tomorrow for my girlfriend's weekend.

But. the best news is I get a weekend with with my husband & family and will try to recoup from this allergy attack.

And, the best part is that I will be home in Dallas Monday and Tuesday - I don't have to climb on another plane until Wednesday. Yay! And it's just a short 3-day trip to Miami.

Have a Fab Friday my friends!!!!

Last week you saw a shot of the Prada, Tom Ford, Tiffany and other high-end shops on the Las Vegas strip. In the background you saw a number of tall office (? I think) buildings, and I mentioned that the gold in one of the buildings was a reflection from another building. Here's the gold buildings that made those cool reflections.

I dont' have any idea what these buildings are, I believe they are office buildings just off the main Las Vegas strip. They were really cool.

Have a 'golden' day my friends!

Well, this isn't the "Miracle Mile" shops in Las Vegas - but I'd say it's certainly the Miracle 1/2 block. Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford, Prada, Tiffany..................

:-)).

"Anyone who ever gave you confidence, you owe them a lot." ~Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany's, 1958, spoken by the character Holly Golightly

I LOVED the architecture of these buildings on the Las Vegas strip, and the lighting was just right at the moment of this shot.

It is an SOOC shot taken around 7:00 in the evening as we were enjoying our one free afternoon in Las Vegas.

The taller office buildings behind these 'high end' shops were cool also - I really enjoy architecture.

Just as a note - the "golden" section in the background behind the shops was a really unique building. You'll see some shots of the golden building in the next few days.

Please take a moment to look at this in the larger sizes, there's lots of details and interesting features to see.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on the building shot from yesterday too.

I hope you all have a great day full of blessings and miracles!

Which buildings am I shooting, and where does the reflection begin?

Yes, this has got to be one of my favorite reflection shots that I've ever taken. Most of you know I catch them generally in the sides of show cars.

The one afternoon & evening that we had free in Las Vegas was such a blast - the sun was just perfect and the buildings were catching the most perfect reflections of each other. I'm sorry to say that I don't know exactly what the name of this building is, but it sure was fun to shoot.

SOOC - and best viewed in larger sizes.

Hope you all enjoy & have a fantastic Saturday!!!

"If this house is rockin', don't bother knockin', come on in." Stevie Ray Vaughn.

If you've never had the opportunity to stay at a Hard Rock Hotel, you should at least once in your life. It's quite an experience, and the photos and decor included in the public areas as well as the sleeping rooms are quite a trip down Rock N Roll lane.

This is the iconic guitar outside the Hard Rock on the Las Vegas strip. We didn't stay here on our trip, but I've stayed in the one in Chicago and it was a real fun place. Check it out in X2 or X3 - I think it's pretty neat!

This shot was taken on our one free afternoon/evening in Las Vegas. I really loved all the colors, signs and lights here. Hope you all do too.

I'll be headed home from New Mexico tonight and get to spend the weekend at home with my husband and hopefully get to hug a few grandkids. Then I'm off again for a week in Houston.

Have a Happy and ROCKIN' Friday!!!!!

This is one of the most unique buildings on the Las Vegas strip - well, it is for me anyway. The LV strip of Chock Full of unique buildings, but I really liked this one a lot. It's the Planet Hollywood Westgate and it is the largest single vacation ownership building ever built in the world and stands among the most luxurious properties of any kind in the Las Vegas market. Directly connected to the Miracle Mile shops and adjacent to the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino complex, PH Towers Westgate is the first vacation ownership resort to be fully integrated with a major resort and casino.

According to their website: This 52-story blue glass marvel boasts over 1,200 upscale villas ranging in size from 450 to 2,200 square feet, each complete with full kitchens; oversized jetted tubs; state-of-the-art room management and entertainment systems; and uncompromised, dazzling views of the Las Vegas Strip. A majority of the villas also include a 10-foot-wide high definition movie theater. Another unique feature of PH Towers Westgate is the sleek and upscale lobby directly overlooking an exotic tropical pool, complete with a sandy beach and forty private cabanas that are conveniently located only a few feet from the resort elevators.

Of course for those of you who know me well, you'll know that I LOVED the reflection of the other building on the side of this blue beauty.

Check this one out in full size, it's pretty cool!

Have a super great day, and do something that makes you laugh out loud! It's good for the soul.
